REDMOND OREGON REAL ESTATE

Welcome to the “heart” of Central Oregon: Redmond.  Positioned on a flat plateau in the High Desert, Redmond has become one of the fastest growing industrial and residential communities in the state of Oregon.  Its current population of about 18,000 residents is quickly expanding at a growth rate of 8% per year.  Redmond’s prime location could be to thank for this; it is just 15 minutes north of Bend, the largest community in Central Oregon.

Settlers first came to Redmond in the early 20th century, quickly establishing a community where farmers and retailers could thrive.  Soon, the railroad had reached Redmond, and within 20 years the area’s only airport, Roberts Field, was established.  Though Redmond’s size has increased dramatically since its incorporation, residents still enjoy the small town lifestyle.  The downtown area, which was largely developed in the 1940’s, appears much the same today.  Once the farming and retail “hub” of Central Oregon, Redmond’s residents now enjoy job opportunities in a multitude of markets.  In fact, primary industries in the area include aviation, high technology, tourism and manufacturing.

To keep up with its ever-growing population, Redmond has committed itself to achieving economic development by creating and maintaining basic industry jobs through local businesses.  It has also maintained a high level of public education, with a school district that covers over 550 miles and has about 6,400 students in grades K-12.  Students and teachers take the school district’s motto, “Rising above and beyond,” very seriously.  Every year, Redmond students score higher on achievement tests that the state or national average.  The teachers consistently win state awards for their own achievements in the classroom.

Redmond’s small town spirit and big town convenience makes it quite a desirable place to call home.  If you are thinking of relocating to Redmond, contact us.  As Bend area real estate brokers, we can help you find the perfect home in Redmond to settle into.
