If you live in Bend or Portland, Oregon you probably are quite aware of how truly awesome living in Oregon is. It's one of the most breathtaking states to visit and there are so many beautiful sights and attractions to take. Luckily for Oregonians they have their whole lives to see everything their state has to offer. However, for those of you who live in Queens Quay condos in Toronto or townhouses in Minneapolis you don't know what you're missing out on.
That doesn't mean you can't make an effort to visit Oregon and take in those beautiful sights yourself though. A trip to Oregon will never be complete because you probably won't be traveling from your Bradford homes long enough to see what every city in Oregon has to offer tourists. We know that and that's why we want to single out one Oregon attraction in particular that we implore you to visit while visiting Oregon, and that attraction would be Mt. Hood.
If you're unfamiliar with Mt. Hood let us tell you a little bit about it so you can get excited for the moment you start counting down the days till your trip to Oregon and your vacation from your Mississauga counseling job. The first thing you need to know about Mt. Hood is that, at over 11,000 feet, it's Oregon's tallest mountain! The view from surroundings cliffs and Mt. Hood itself allows you to overlook many wonderful sights such as windsurfing waters, waterfalls and riverfront towns.
In addition to the amazing views there's never a shortage of things to do while you're visiting Mt. Hood. If you're into skiing or snowboarding there are four ski areas. For any history buff the place to be is the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center so you can see a unique museum that's full of artifacts, heirlooms, exhibits and living history presentations. Who knows, you might even see some dollhouse accessories your collection is missing while at the museum.
Mt. Hood also knows there's a daredevil/adventurous side in all of us and lets us indulge that side by providing places to go camping, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, and kite boarding! There's also something for gardeners and fruit lovers, as the Hood River Valley, which is found below Mt. Hood is a haven for fruit growing! You'll see everything from apples to apricots to pears to wine grapes and blueberries!
Don't forget to sample some of the local cuisine to be had while visiting Mt. Hood. You have your option of eating at quaint restaurants, roadside stands, farms or orchards. Wherever you eat just make sure that you taste something locally made and then rave about it to all of your hyperbaric therapy co-workers back home! So, now that you know about Mt.
